On Wednesday evening, July 24, at 7 p.m., the Inlet Historical Society will present a continuation of its “Inlet Then and Now” program presented last month. This edition, also presented by Charles Herr, will be using a similar format of contemporary images with current photos.
Mr. Herr will continue the discussion of the development of the early Village of Inlet, as well as its churches, fire department and other hotels and businesses at the head of Fourth Lake and the surrounding Seventh and Limekiln Lakes. The Society invites members and the public to attend and provide additional information to that presented as the Society continues to formulate the early history of the Town of Inlet.
This is also another opportunity for existing members to renew their membership as well as for other attendees who wish to support the Society to consider becoming members, supporting its historical mission and ongoing capital efforts.
The Inlet Historical Society is a tax exempt organization under I.R.S. Section 501 (c ) (3); updates to information concerning the Society can be viewed on its website, http://www.inlethistoricalsociety.org .
Also, the annual membership meeting will be held on August 7. The Society invites anyone who wishes to take a more active role in the management of the Society’s historical efforts and mission to contact Mitch Lee or Craig Wittlin of the Society’s Board at the Inlet Tourism Office.
