“A Little History, A Little Business” IHS Annual Membership Meeting – August 10

The Annual Membership Meeting of the Inlet Historical Society should be of special interest to members not only for the opportunity to meet fellow members and learn about the still young historical society’s activities, but also to view a special presentation about an early part of Inlet’s Main Street history.

Before performing the business part of the evening, Charles Herr will present the “Short History of the Short Life of Inlet’s First Theater”.  In addition to his narrative, Mr. Herr will present images of this building as well as its role in not only Inlet’s early history, but also its connection to Old Forge’s early entertainment history.

After the presentation, the Society’s membership will not only vote on Board-approved interim amendments to the By-Laws and Constitution from the past year, but also will elect and meet the Society’s new officers for the next terms of office.  The Board will have a major turnover and the membership will be introduced to the new, but also familiar, faces of the Society’s new Board.

The presentation and meeting will be at 7 PM, Wednesday, August 10, at the Inlet Town Hall.

The next monthly program of the Society will be “Photographic History of Inlet” on Wednesday, August 17 at 7 PM in the Inlet Town Hall.
